Sally Hansen
Director of Guardianship/Expert Life Care Manager
Sally has been in healthcare related positions for more than 18 years. She is Director of Guardianship and a senior Life Care Manager, as she was the first Life Care Manager/Guardian for the Elite Care Group.
Sally’s forte has been in assisting clients and their families navigate through the healthcare maze along with working with individuals with behavioral disorders and intellectual disabilities. She also has substantial experience in client residential placement.
Along with her extensive knowledge of navigating health care systems, Sally is very well versed in estate inventory management, and has acted as Estate Administrator, assisting fiduciaries and attorneys in the consolidation of accounts and client assets. Sally takes pride in her ability to work collaboratively with Elite’s professional team of CPA, MSW, LCSW, BSN’s and LPN credentialed staff.
Some of Sally’s roles with Elite are executing systems, guiding and mentoring staff, to reach their highest potential, and assisting in marketing to maintain strong relationships with referral sources, fiduciaries and clients. Sally brings her knowledge, skills, and experience to the role of advocate as she works to strengthen her client’s quality of life with dignity.
Sally has been highly requested, by the numerous attorneys and fiduciaries that Elite collaborates with, lending her experience and talent, especially in discovery, while handling some of their more complex cases.
Sally’s professional excellence is evident through her ability to perform thorough assessments of the person and the home, in addition to preparing comprehensive Care Plans that are designed specifically for the client and their families. In addition, Sally has worked extensively with the court system in seven counties and is very knowledgeable in all processes of guardianship, as well as the responsibilities of being appointed a legal guardian. Sally is skilled in writing reports to the court and filing timely and accurate Annual Reports to the Court.
Sally has been a small business owner for over 30 years and her educational background is in Business. Her former work experience includes, Dreyer/Advocate, being an educator/platform artist for John Amico Educational Concepts, and a Senior Care Consultant for Elderwerks, a Senior placement company. Sally’s accomplishments include being a recipient of the Top 50 Independent Sales Representatives for John Amico Concepts for five consecutive years.
Professional involvement includes former Board Member of Child Welfare Society, American Business Women’s Association, and currently is a Kane County CASA/GAL and Member of National Guardianship Association, and a member of CMSA.
Philanthropic endeavors are an important part of Sally’s life and her contributions include taking an active role in Marmion Academy Mother’s Club, participant in Relay for Life, Goodwill Ambassador for March of Dimes, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Locks of Love, Volunteer at Hesed House, Boy and Girl Scouts of America, Volunteer for Autism Now and the Autism Society of America, Mutual Ground, AID. She has helped raise funds for National Association of the Deaf, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Catholic Charities, Feed my Starving Children, and many other organizations over the years.
Sally is a native of the Western Suburbs. She has 2 grown children; a son, who is married, and lives in Brazil, working as a professor, and a daughter, who is a nurse at Edward Hospital, working in Neurology and Cardiac Telemetry. Sally has a cat named Gertie and a Sheepadoodle, named Winnie (who she is going to train as a Therapy Dog)
